2021-2022 Scripps Online Spelling Bee

Bowditch Spelling Bee - The Online Version is on again this year! Participants enjoyed the simplified experience last year. Word lists, two rounds of testing will all be held online.

• Open to ALL Bowditch students - all 3 grades

• Registration closes: Wednesday, October 20th 

• Those who register will receive an electronic copy of the study word list by October 21st.

• The Competition will be held in two rounds using the online platform

• First-round - week of November 8th

• Second round - Week of December 6th

• Tie-break vocabulary tests will be administered during the second round as needed 

• The Bowditch spelling champion for 2021-2022 will be chosen at the end of these rounds, who will move on to the higher rounds of the Scripps National Spelling Bee

• Schedule, rules & other details will be shared with registered participants by email

• All qualifiers for the second round will receive a participation electronic certificate. 

• Top three spellers at the school level will also receive trophies/medals consistent with past years.
